Since 1995, we have been bringing students into the nearby North Cascades mountains to get away from technology, to work hard, to be uncomfortable, to experience the beauty and serenity of remote wilderness, and to learn to take care of each other.

We always pushed our learning to the highest extent, whether it was by studying Mayan Astronomy at Tikal, traveling to Zimbabwe, or building a Tesla coil. We may not have had, large numbered classrooms, but for many of our classes, we didn't need any classroom at all.
